Hometown Pet Care is the only hospital in the area dedicated exclusively to the care of small companion animals, including dogs, cats and pocket pets. We personally understand the special role your pet plays as part of your family and we strive to nurture that bond with every interaction.
Just like Dr. Watterson, who paved the way for us, we want to continue the legacy of improving the lives of both people and pets.

Our hospital is staffed with a team of experienced yet approachable individuals who are committed to partnering with you. We want you to feel comfortable asking us questions — and we want your four-legged family member to feel safe and at ease in our presence.
Committed to Our Community
We have spent several years serving our local animal shelter and routinely assist by providing care to homeless pets. Our staff volunteer both collectively and individually, and we are always looking for new organizations to team up with.
Dr. David Prescott

Dr. Prescott grew up between Germantown, Tennessee and a family farm in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where feeding cattle, riding the hay wagon and raising puppies started a lifelong love of animals. Working at his hometown veterinary clinic — and reading James Herriot — did the rest.
Memories of rural life pulled him back to a small town. In 2005 he bought Watterson Veterinary Hospital and moved his family to Miami, OK. He keeps a 120-gallon reef tank in the clinic lobby, shoots skeet, and shares a home with his wife Amanda, their three boys, two mini Australian shepherds — Noulli and Tipper — and a few head of cattle.
